ABSTRACT
Imperforate hymen is the most common obstructive anomaly of female genital tract. Conventional surgical treatment for this condition cruciate incision made on hymen. The aim study was to evaluate a novel technique that preserves virginity after hymenotomy using electrocautery.Patients diagnosed with imperforate and treated annular between 2009 2013 were included in retrospective cohort study. Annular done electrocautery whilst sparing intact hymenal tissue circumferentially at least 5 mm from base.Fifteen patients Mean age 14.2 ± 2.2 years. median operation time min (3-9 min). No complications occurred. During follow-up examinations, none had closure all regular menstrual bleeding.This showed complete success without any observed complication. This might be good alternative seeking preserve surgery.
