ABSTRACT
Abstract Although contemporary couples increasingly express preferences for egalitarian unions, previous research has suggested that sexual intimacy decreases when routine housework is shared. Yet this was conducted on data are decades old. To update work, the authors compared from 2006 Marital and Relationship Survey (MARS) Wave 2 of National Families Households (NSFH2), collected in 1992–1994. The results indicated change association between arrangements across surveys. were associated with lower frequency to conventional NSFH2, no such difference found MARS. In fact, reported increased surveys among only. addition, how arranged mattered more satisfaction MARS than NSFH2 couples. These changes appear result increasing role perceived equity as a mechanism linking division sex.
