ABSTRACT
Abstract The increasing importance of entrepreneurial behaviour has led scholars to embrace the idea that an orientation (EO) is important predictor firm performance. While EO occupies a central position in strategic entrepreneurship research, have yet explore its origins new ventures. Drawing on knowledge‐based and cognitive views, we theorize venture team's transactive memory system mechanism spurs development EO. In field study high‐tech ventures China, examined relationship between teams’ systems (representing distribution, integration, utilization knowledge) moderating influence team‐, firm‐, environment‐level factors. We found team enhanced their this was positively influenced by intra‐team trust, structural organicity venture, environmental dynamism.
