ABSTRACT
To evaluate the effect of a home bleaching agent (Opalescence PF) on translucency CAD/CAM ceramic systems. The 28 sintered specimens (IPS Empress CAD and IPS e.max CAD; 15 mm long, 10 wide, 1 thick) were divided into two subgroups as control groups (n = 7). Carbamide peroxide (CP), 16%, was applied onto surface each specimen for 6 hours per day 7 days. A spectrophotometer (VITA Easyshade Advance) used to measure CIE L* a* b* coordinates reflectance value (Y) white black backgrounds. The parameter (TP), contrast ratio (CR), opalescence (OP) calculated. data statistically analyzed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, one-way ANOVA, Tukey's test, Pearson's correlation.Statistically significant differences in TP values after 16% CP treatment observed (p ˂ 0.05); however, no found OP CR ˃ 0.05).According our study, patients who have all-ceramic restorations their mouths should be careful when agents, because whitening agents can affect such CAD.
