ABSTRACT
SUMMARY Background Most elderly people undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) treatment have a high incidence of frailty, cognitive impairment and emotional disturbance leading to significant impact on families. The burden experienced by the family caregivers could affect their physical emotion health. objective this study was examine level adults receiving PD identify any contributing factors. Materials Methods This cross‐sectional employing convenience sampling. Patient–caregiver dyads were recruited from outpatient clinic university hospital in China 2019. Caregivers provided information perceived health‐related quality life. patients reported functional dependence depressive symptoms same interview. Linear regression analyses used determine factors caregivers’ burden. Results Sixty patient–caregiver recruited. had mean age 70.7 ± 7.4 years. moderate levels having ZBI score 30.5 15.9. Multivariate showed that being female, perceiving one's financial status as insufficient, low social support for caregiver, disability carrying out instrumental activities daily life statistically predictors caregiver (adjusted R 2 = 0.46, p < 0.001). Conclusion Elderly who experience are caregivers. In response challenge, interventions designed with goal supporting mental wellbeing warranted.
