ABSTRACT
Deficient sleep is linked to detrimental outcomes in health and school performance for adolescents. This study characterized patterns Chinese adolescents preparing the College Entrance Exam (CEE) evaluated association between patterns, self-rated academic performance, CEE scores.A sample of 481 12th grade (ages 16-19 years) completed questionnaires about stress, sociodemographic factors 4-6 weeks before June 2013. The scores each student also were obtained.A total 21% students had bedtimes after 12:00 am, 78.3% latency longer than 30 minutes, 14.6% wake time earlier 6:00 vast majority (94.4%) duration less 8 hours. After adjusting selected confounders such as prolonged was associated with poorer self-reported late bedtime higher score.Our findings highlight complex performance. Assessing monitoring during periods high demand stress may yield important recommendations their safety well establishing optimal habits.
