ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT BACKGROUND Physical activity ( PA ) assessment by questionnaire is a cornerstone in the field of sport epidemiology studies. The Activity Questionnaire for Children PAQ ‐C) has been used widely to assess healthy school populations. aim this study was evaluate reliability and validity ‐C Spanish children using triaxial accelerometry as criterion. METHODS Eighty‐three (N = 46 boys, N 37 girls) (age 10.98 ± 1.17 years, body mass index 19.48 3.51 kg/m 2 were volunteers completed twice wore an accelerometer 8 consecutive days. Reliability analyzed intraclass correlation coefficient ICC internal consistency Cronbach's α coefficient. compared against total moderate vigorous MVPA obtained accelerometry. RESULTS Test‐retest showed 0.96 final score ‐C. Small differences between first second administration detected. Few low correlations (rho 0.228‐0.278, all p s < .05) observed highest item 9 0.311, .01). CONCLUSIONS had high but questionable assessing children. Therefore, measurement should not be limited only self‐report measurements.
