ABSTRACT
Abstract Trichothecium roseum causes decay in muskmelons, apples, tomatoes and mangoes, which leads to economic losses. In this study, we investigated the effect of sodium silicate on growth T. cell wall‐degrading enzymes ( CWDE s) secreted by hyphae. The results indicated that significantly inhibited mycelial spore germination . treatment also retarded secretion several s, including pectate lyase PL ), polygalacturonic acid transeliminase PGTE pectin methyltranseliminase PMTE methylgalacturonase PMG polygalacturonase PG cellulase (Cx) β‐glucosidase. These suggest exerts its effects through direct inhibition s.
