ABSTRACT
This paper investigates the impact of both geographical and relational proximity on innovative performance firm. We address role one firm characteristic—its absorptive capacity—as a specific contingency affecting relationship between different proximities innovation. Using data from 158 high‐tech firms located in Tiburtina Valley Italy, we studied these their key customers. Our findings support need to downplay promoting results also show that customers has complementary with capacity, which positively moderates its influence performance.
