ABSTRACT
Summary Background Commonly, the application of radiological and clinical criteria determination galactomannan (GM) in respiratory samples are used as a diagnostic tool for detection invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA). Materials/methods In this study, two lateral flow assays, OLM Aspergillus device (LFD) IMMY sōna Galactomannan assay (LFA), were evaluated at tertiary hospitals Germany. A total 200 bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) from patients with suspicion IPA analysed retrospectively. LFD LFA against four different criteria: Blot, EORTC/MSG, Schauwvlieghe extended Blot additionally GM. Results The evaluation algorithms diagnosis showed that there exist good tools to rule out an even before results culture available. Sensitivities negative predictive values generally higher than all criteria. Specificity positive varied depending on classification agreement between GM cube reader (cut‐off = 1) was 84%. correlation calculated r 0.8. Conclusion here presented data indicate result BAL fluid can reliable heterogeneous group ICU based original seems be promising immunochromatographic test exhibiting values.
