ABSTRACT
Abstract Background A recent multicenter randomized trial in achalasia patients has shown that pneumatic dilation resulted equivalent relief of symptoms compared to laparoscopic Heller myotomy. Additionally, the cost each treatment should be also taken consideration. Therefore, aim present study was perform an economic analysis European trial. Methods Patients with newly diagnosed were enrolled from 2003 2008 14 centers five countries and randomly assigned either ( PD ) or LHM ).
