ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a very common disease worldwide. Dysmenorrhea impairs quality of life among females reproductive age. Although dysmenorrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), no study has yet evaluated the association between and FD. Subjects completed self‐reported questionnaire regarding menstrual irregularity, pain, medication for pain. Age, body mass index, drinking, smoking, exercise habit, anemia, first‐year student status were selected as potential confounding factors. Results The prevalence FD, epigastric pain (EPS), postprandial distress (PDS) was 2.5%, 0.6%, 2.1%, respectively. Heavy independently positively PDS but not EPS (adjusted ORs: 3.18 [95% CI: 1.60–6.89] PDS, 2.93 1.56–7.93] heavy p trend = 0.001 0.004, respectively). Using often EPS, respectively, 2.41 1.50–3.83], 1.04–7.93], 2.44 1.46–4.01]). Irregular cycle or subtype Conclusion Among young population, might be EPS. use including
