ABSTRACT
Abstract Objectives In case of surgical removal oral squamous cell carcinomas, a resection mandibular bone is frequently part the treatment. Nowadays, such resections include application 3D virtual planning (VSP) and guided surgery techniques. this paper, current methods for VSP leads optimisation workflow, patient‐specific guides implants are reviewed. Recent findings Current enable multi‐modality fusion images. This images not restricted to specific software package or workflow. New strategies in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery finite element analysis, deep learning advanced augmented reality These aim improve treatment terms accuracy, predictability safety. Conclusions Application discussed novel technologies will accuracy safety reconstruction planning. Accurate, easy‐to‐use, safe efficient three‐dimensional can be applied every patient with malignancies needing mandible.
