ABSTRACT
The incidence of postoperative complications following cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) procedures in patients treated with antithrombotic drugs has not been studied sufficiently. Here we present a comparison after CIED implantations.Using an observational study design, the included 1807 taking antiplatelet (n: 1601), nonvitamin K anticoagulants (NOAC) 136), and warfarin 70) undergoing surgery. Primary endpoint was accepted as cumulative events including composite clinically significant hematoma (CSH), pericardial effusion or tamponade, pneumothorax, infection related to system. Secondary outcomes each compenent events. Multivariable analysis performed identify predictors events. The overall event rate 3.7% (67 1807). Cumulative occured 3.1% (50 1601) antiplatelet, 5.1% (7 136) NOAC, 14.3% (10 groups (p < 0.001). CSH occurred 2 70 (2.9%) group, compared 5 1601 (0.3%) group (p: 0.032). However, no differences were found between NOAC terms (0.7% vs. 2.9% respectively, p: 0.267). Warfarin treatment independent predictor increased 2.9-fold risk Major surgical rare did differ significantly groups. The severity may be lower periprocedurally therapy when therapy. Further randomized control studies are required confirm our findings.
