ABSTRACT
Summary CRISPR /Cas9 and TALEN are currently the two systems of choice for genome editing. We have studied efficiency system in rice as well nature inheritability ‐induced mutations found important features this technology. The N287C230 backbone resulted low mutation rates (0–6.6%), but truncations its C‐terminal domain dramatically increased to 25%. In most transgenic T0 plants, produced a single prevalent accompanied by variety low‐frequency mutations. For each independent plant, was present tissues within tiller all tillers examined, suggesting that occurred very early development shoot apical meristem. Multigenerational analysis showed were stably transmitted T1 T2 populations normal Mendelian fashion. our study, vast majority (~81%) affected multiple bases ~70% them deletions. Our results contrast with published reports rice, which predominant deletions accounted only 3.3% overall
