ABSTRACT
Summary In eukaryotes, MAPK scaffold proteins are crucial for regulating the function of cascades. However, only a few have been reported in plants, and molecular mechanism through which regulate cascade remains poorly understood. Here, we identified GhMORG1, GhMKK6‐GhMPK4 protein that positively regulates resistance cotton to Fusarium oxysporum . GhMORG1 interacted with GhMKK6 GhMPK4, overexpression protoplasts dramatically increased activity cascade. Quantitative phosphoproteomics was used clarify disease resistance, thirty‐two were considered as putative substrates GhMORG1‐dependent These involved multiple processes, such cellular amino acid metabolic calcium ion binding RNA binding. The kinase assays verified most phosphorylated by For functional analysis, nine silenced cotton, respectively. F. decreased substrate‐silenced cottons. results suggest several different processes facilitating phosphorylation substrates. Taken together, these findings reveal new plant provide insights into pathogens.
