ABSTRACT
Abstract Breeding efforts in West and Central Africa (WCA) have focused on the development of Low‐N‐tolerant (LNT) maize inbreds their classification into heterotic groups. This study was conducted to classify LNT lines groups using testcross performance, morphological SNP markers compare consistency groupings by three methods. Thirty‐six were crossed two contrasting inbred testers generate 72 testcrosses that evaluated under low‐N conditions Nigeria 2014. Also, 36 for per se performance similar as 2014 genotyped 2015 1,123,196 markers. Based 33 grouped testers. Morphological characterization from genetic relationship classified four inconsistent with pedigree. Correlation analysis showed non‐concurrence grouping However, information these would assist reducing number crosses be made evaluated.
