ABSTRACT
Abstract The use of high‐performing varieties could contribute to increase food legume production and meet the population demand. However, long process conventional breeding is a serious limitation that needs further acceleration genetic improvement. Speed based on extended photoperiod one techniques allows rapid generation turnover by accelerating plant life cycle. present study focused optimizing duration for lentil, chickpea faba bean in growth chamber with light‐emitting diode (LED) light sources. Significant differences rate, biomass production, phenology, physiology, injury yield components were observed depending phase durations (22, 18 14 h). Twenty‐two hours resulted earlier flowering maturity, but higher stress symptoms than other two treatments. vegetative development was almost normal limited under h light, late maturity. Interestingly, good establishment shorter cycle light. Therefore, light/6 darkness be advised protocol.
