ABSTRACT
Sharka, a disease caused by plum pox virus (PPV), has significant economic impact on fruit tree production. In this work, we analysed the effect of (2,1,3)-benzothiadiazole (BTH) and L-2-oxo-4-thiazolidine-carboxylic acid (OTC) plant growth content. OTC reduced sharka symptom, stimulated alleviated PPV-induced oxidative stress, indicated lack changes in some stress parameters. PPV infection chloroplast electron transport efficiency. However, presence BTH or OTC, no chlorophyll fluorescence parameters were observed. produced an alteration ultrastructure, giving rise to decrease starch contents that was less dramatic OTC-treated plants. Furthermore, abundance proteins associated with photosynthesis, carbohydrate amino metabolism photorespiration. These did not take place plants, increases expression related aforementioned processes, including ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase, produced, which correlated lower observed PPV-infected plants treated OTC. The results suggested treatment provides protection photosynthetic machinery and/or peaches. Thus, could have practical implications agriculture improving vigour different species as well immunizing against pathogens.
