ABSTRACT
Floral transition starts in the leaves when florigens respond to various environmental and developmental factors. Among several regulatory genes that are preferentially expressed inflorescence meristem during floral transition, this study examines homeobox OsZHD1 OsZHD2 for their roles regulating transition. Although single mutations these did not result visible phenotype changes, double delayed flowering. Florigen expression was altered mutants, indicating delay due a defect florigen signaling. Morphological analysis of shoot apical at early stage indicated development significantly mutants. Overexpression ZHD2 causes flowering because downstream signals after generation florigens. Expression levels auxin biosynthesis were reduced mutants addition indole-3-acetic acid recovered suggesting play role biosynthesis. A rice florigen, RICE FLOWERING LOCUS T 1, binds promoter regions genes. These results indicate stimulate genes, enhancing apex.
