ABSTRACT
Abstract Mycobacterium avium‐intracellulare (MAC) infection may have different skin manifestations, including cutaneous granulomas. Granulomatous reactions distinct morphologic and histopathologic appearances. We present the case of an adolescent male with MAC, misdiagnosed as sarcoidosis after initial biopsy results, demonstrated preservation reticulin fibers absence organisms within Sarcoidal granulomas often stain positive for fibers, which could be used to distinguish them from infectious kind. This should alert clinicians fact that presence or quantity intact reticular not a reliable tool differentiate between sarcoidal granuloma. Our also highlights diagnostic challenge MAC infection.
