ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Photoprotection is the first measure in prevention and treatment of deleterious effects that sunlight can cause on skin. It well known prolonged exposure to solar radiation leads acute chronic complications, such as erythema, accelerated skin aging, proinflammatory procarcinogenic effects, eye damage, among others. Methods A better understanding molecules protect against ultraviolet their will lead improvements health. Results Most these are modulated by oxidative stress mechanisms, therefore, supplementation substances regulate neutralize reactive oxygen species would be beneficial for protection. Current evidence indicates systemic photoprotection should used an adjunctive topical photoprotection.
