ABSTRACT
Abstract Leaf senescence is a complex and precise regulatory process that correlated with numerous internal environmental factors. tightly related to the redistribution of nutrients, which significantly affects productivity quality, especially in crops. Evidence shows mediation transcriptional regulation by WRKY transcription factors vital for fine‐tuning leaf senescence. However, underlying mechanisms involvement are still unclear wheat. Using RNA sequencing data, we isolated novel factor, TaWRKY40‐D, localizes nucleus basically induced progression TaWRKY40‐D promoter natural dark‐induced transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana We also demonstrated positive response wheat upon jasmonic acid (JA) abscisic (ABA) treatment. Consistent this, detached leaves VIGS (virus‐induced gene silencing) plants showed stay‐green phenotype, while overexpressing premature after JA ABA Moreover, our results revealed positively regulates senescence, possibly altering biosynthesis signalling pathway genes. Together, suggest new regulator JA‐ ABA‐related as well candidate can be used molecular breeding
