ABSTRACT
The treatment of plantar heel pain is highly challenging. We report ultrasound-guided pulsed radiofrequency (UG-PRF) in the gastrocnemius to treat and minimize safety issues. This study compared UG-PRF with sham 100 patients pain. Primary outcome measures include subscale Foot Health Status Questionnaire (FHSQ-pain) "first step" as measured on a visual analogue scale (VAS-"first-step" pain). secondary FHSQ-foot function general foot health, health related quality life (assessed using Short Form-36 questionnaire [SF-36]). All outcomes were at 3 6 months post-treatment.The results showed efficacy terms management, reflected by higher FHSQ-pain score (increased 20.0 (P < 0.0001) 17.9 = 0.001) or months, respectively) lower VAS-"first-step" (reduced 26.1 14.3 0.01) group respectively). FHSQ-general increased 0.05, vs months). SF-36 physical component was 10.8 0.042) 10.4 0.044) than respectively. No severe complications observed. We conclude that both safe efficacious managing
