ABSTRACT
To present an algorithm of sequential treatment options for managing myofascial pain (MP) in older adults, along with a representative clinical case. A modified Delphi process was used to synthesize evidence-based recommendations. multidisciplinary expert panel developed the algorithm, which subsequently refined through iterative input from primary care physician panel. We and supportive materials help guide adults MP, important contributor chronic low back (CLBP). Addressing any perpetuating factors should be first step MP. Patients educated on self-care approaches, home exercise, use safe analgesics when indicated. Trigger point deactivation can accomplished by manual therapy, injection dry needling, and/or acupuncture. The presented gives structured approach providers planning patients MP as CLBP.
