ABSTRACT
Abstract Shrimp domestication and genetic improvement programmes began in late 1980s, the United States of America, under Marine Farming Program ( USMSFP ), using Pacific whiteleg shrimp Penaeus vannamei . The was based on proven concepts from livestock poultry industries with establishing a specific pathogen‐free SPF ) stock. original stock obtained rigorous screening captured wild for selection individuals naturally free major pathogens.
