ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper develops a nonparametric inference framework that is applicable to occupation time curves derived from wearable device data. These consider all activity levels within the range of readings, which preferable practice classifying into discrete categories. Motivated by certain features these curves, we introduce powerful likelihood ratio approach construct confidence bands and compare functional means. Notably, our allows discontinuities in covariances while accommodating discretization observed trajectories. A simulation study shows proposed procedures outperform competing data procedures. We illustrate methods using an NHANES study.
