ABSTRACT
Individuals with substance use disorders ( SUD s) are at high risk of suicidal behaviors, highlighting the need for an improved understanding potentially influential factors. One such domain is self‐efficacy to manage thoughts and impulses. Psychometric data about S elf‐ E fficacy A void uicidal ction SEASA ) Scale within a sample adults seeking treatment N = 464) provided. Exploratory factor analysis supported single construct. Lower scores, or lower self‐efficacy, were reported in those more severe ideation suicide attempts, providing evidence convergent validity. Implications measuring context assessment discussed.
