ABSTRACT
Psychological impairments can follow an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and impact the rehabilitation process. Our aim was to investigate experiences of sports physical therapists (PTs) in addressing psychological patients after ACL injury. We conducted four focus group interviews with fourteen PTs. The PTs’ working were summarized main categories: (1) “Calling for a guiding light”, where PTs stated that most common method acquiring knowledge on through discussions colleagues, and, at same time, expressed insufficient how address impairments; (2) “Meeting burden impairments” are greater than physical; (3) “Trying balance aspects” patient education assessments reported be important order understand during rehabilitation; (4) “Goal setting: helpful challenge” need specific following To help provide current best practice, we encourage researchers develop psychologically centered interventions injury, stay up‐to‐date literature published subject, including implement eventual interventions.
