Efficient building facade structure extraction method using image‐based laser point cloud

ABSTRACT
Abstract Facade structures from three‐dimensional (3D) point cloud data (PCD) and two‐dimensional (2D) optical images can provide significant information for 3D building modeling. However, a unified model integrating 2D imagery pixels PCD is absent in current methods, leading to complex implementation process, large calculations, inefficiency. An efficient facade structure extraction method facades proposed this study. Based on the conversion matrix, image are merged build an image‐based laser (ILPC) first. Second, both line segment detection random sample consensus algorithms improved according characteristics of ILPC model. Finally, extracted optimized. be accurately efficiently by method, which contains rich support The extracts fine with accuracy over 0.68 all experiments recall up 0.81, better than Wang method.
