ABSTRACT
Abstract Objective To identify the Anopheles culicifacies sibling species complex and study their vectorial role in malaria endemic regions of Odisha. Methods Mosquitoes were collected from 6 districts using standard entomological collection methods. An. identified by multiplex polymerase chain reaction ( PCR ) cytochrome oxidase subunit II COII region mitochondrial DNA . Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) sporozoite rate human blood fed percentage HBF estimated Pf‐ human‐specific primers. Sequencing phylogenetic analysis performed to confirm type found Results Multiplex detected A, B, C, D E was for first time Odisha, which further confirmed molecular phylogenetics. Highest observed comparison with other species. Nawarangapur, Nuapara Keonjhar district showed high rates. Conclusion B most abundant species, followed C E. High indicated that it plays an important transmission Appropriate control measures against at early stage are needed prevent
