ABSTRACT
Seedlessness is one of the most important breeding goals for table grapes; thus, understanding molecular genetic regulation seed development and abortion critical seedless cultivars. In present study, we characterized VvMADS39, a class E MADS-box gene grapevine (Vitis vinifera) orthologous to Arabidopsis SEP2. Heterologous overexpression VvMADS39 in tomato reduced fruit size number. Targeted mutagenesis homologous SlMADS39 induced various floral defects. It could reasonable suppose that active expression "Thompson Seedless" may restrict cellular expansion, resulting smaller fruits seeds, play role ovule contributes formation. contrast, suppression "Red Globe" was associated with enhanced histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation promoter region allowing normal development; Meanwhile, interacts VvAGAMOUS, activity VvMADS39-VvAGAMOUS dimer induce integument requires activation maintenance VvINO expression. The synergistic cooperation between related proteins plays an maintaining meristem characteristics, development.
