ABSTRACT
Success in plant reproduction is highly dependent on the correct timing of floral transition, which tightly regulated by flowering pathways. In model Arabidopsis thaliana, central repressor FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) precisely multiple time regulators vernalization pathway and autonomous pathway, including FPA. Here we report that MEDIATOR SUBUNIT 8 (MED8) promotes transition recruiting FPA to FLC locus repress expression. Loss MED8 function leads a significant late-flowering phenotype due increased We further show directly interacts with nucleus recruits locus. Moreover, indispensable for FPA's controlling regulating Our study thus reveals mechanism Mediator subunit represses expression facilitating binding ensure appropriate reproductive success.
