ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND Platelet (PLT) storage at cold temperatures (4°C) can reduce bacterial contamination and lower the risk of transfusion‐related complications. We compared effects 22 4°C conditions for PLTs to further explore efficiency hemostasis in acute bleeding extended PLT shelf life. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS Manually prepared (PLT concentrates plasma, not additive solution) were stored 4 22°C. The counts, scanning electronic microscope observations, blood gas indices, biochemical aggregative function, surface CD62P expression monitored between groups. RESULTS There was no obvious change counts Day 21 5 10 14 days dramatically activated, had rough surfaces, showed a significant degree long pseudopodia formation. pH on 22°C than 4°C, while lactate dehydrogenase lactic acid levels former group significantly higher (p < 0.005). maximum aggregation rates induced by collagen arachidonic remained 80%, four inducers less 5%. PAC‐1 CD62P. CONCLUSION cellular morphologies, membranes, cytoplasmic structures, rates, hemostatic function better those days.
