ABSTRACT
Abstract Background and Objectives Most research studies on the effects of repeated plasma donation are observational with different study limitations, resulting in high uncertainty link between health consequences. Here, we prospectively investigated safety intensive or less protocols. Materials Methods Sixty‐three male subjects participated this randomized controlled trial were divided into low‐frequency (LF, once/month, n = 16), high‐frequency (HF, three times/month, very (VHF, two times/week, 16) a placebo (P, 15) groups. Biochemical, haematological, clinical, physiological exercise‐related data collected before (D0), after 1½ months (D42) 3 (D84) donation. Results In VHF, red blood cells, haemoglobin haematocrit levels decreased while reticulocyte increased from D0 to D84. both HF ferritin lower at D42 D84 compared D0. albumin, immunoglobulin G (IgG), A (IgA) M (IgM) dropped remained than HF, IgG, IgA IgM D42, IgG D84, Few adverse events reported VHF. Repeated had no effect pressure, body composition exercise performance. Conclusion VHF plasmapheresis may result large reduction levels. little difference other biochemical, parameters.
