ABSTRACT
The objective of the present study was to report outcome a novel technique urethral intra-abdominal anastomosis after transabdominal wall passage penis in dog with stent-related obstruction. Case report. A seven-year-old neutered male Cocker Spaniel. evaluated for urinary retention and overflow incontinence approximately 1-year duration. had self-expanding metallic stent placed 6 years prior as treatment pelvic stricture, secondary severe trauma. Stent fracture tissue hyperplasia were diagnosed leading intrapelvic obstruction concomitant atonic bladder complicated by cystolithiasis tract infection. An performed restore patency, passing through abdominal wall, into inguinal area; surgery successful bypassing No contrast leakage noted on positive cystourethrography 10 days postoperatively. easily emptied manual expression bethanechol started. At 6-months follow-up, remained but expression, mild remaining. signs recurrent infections noted. Nine months euthanized reasons unrelated surgery. anastomosis, penile tunnelization resulted this dog, restoring patency. reported could be viable surgical option patency dogs damage or obstructive lesions.
