ABSTRACT
Soldierless termites are extremely abundant in South America where they account for up to one-third of the termite species richness. However, their diversity has mostly been addressed through scattered, indecisive descriptions, leaving large gaps our understanding diversity. Here, progress towards a more complete knowledge this group, we redescribe genus Grigiotermes and describe five new genera, Amplucrutermes, Humutermes, Hydrecotermes, Patawatermes, Rubeotermes, comprising total nine species. We reassign four synonymize two species, provide extensive descriptions diagnoses all taxa included here. also molecular phylogeny selected Neotropical Old World Apicotermitinae key genera workers facilitate identification. © 2015 The Linnean Society London
