In a plasma-electrode Pockels cell (PEPC), plasma discharges serve as transparent electrodes on each side of an electro-optic crystal such KDP. These plasmas facilitate rapid and uniform charging discharging the crystal. We describe PEPC technology deployed Beamlet envisioned for National Ignition Facility. Performance is discussed in detail. also discuss models which have shed light operation. both high-voltage sheath that forms near surface characteristics bulk column.
