ABSTRACT
This investigation deals with the vibration of and acoustic radiation from a simply supported rectangular plate elastic restraints against edge rotations. The displacement is first sought as series expansion in terms beam functions. Each functions then expressed linear combination Fourier sine complementary sufficiently smooth function that introduced to ensure improve convergence expansion. To facilitate analysis, eventually simplified standard series. modal characteristics square plates are studied for different restraining stiffnesses configurations. It shown modes restrained can be considerably those case, so corresponding efficiencies. proposed method generally applicable elastically along any edge(s), calculations valid an arbitrary or structural (modal) wave number.
