ABSTRACT
Sound radiation characteristics of an annular disk with application to the computer are examined analytically. The far-field and impedance approaches employed calculate radiated sound a vibrating at its elastic or rigid body modes. Modal power is formulated by approximating structural modal functions expressed in terms series wave number. Predictions show that axisymmetric vibration modes more efficient radiators compared those asymmetric have same number nodal circles. Numerical results obtained boundary element program used support analytical predictions. Formulations also extended include coupling source rotation effects. effect between on found be significant if multimodes excited. A simple empirical equation has been developed predict efficiency rotating for selected
