ABSTRACT
Biological phantoms are very useful for controlled experiments on biomedical ultrasound. Nevertheless they normally made of materials with short time-duration (organic materials). We have been studying the ultrasonic properties test-blocks polyvinyl chloride-plastisol (PVCP) that stable in time. In this work we analyzed (US) attenuation and speed at 1MHz, as a function temperature (20 to 40°C) four PVCP different concentrations graphite powder cooking temperature, using classical US transmission method. diminished almost linearly increased. general lied between 0.73 0.09 dB/cm, but presenting more complex behavior. For 1%, was lower than 0% other two (2 5% concentrations) higher. This behavior can be perhaps due fact fabrication 1% 140°C 170°C. Although standard recipe is 170°C, observed smaller temperatures may add adjusting values it property mimic biological tissues. now working multilayer PVCP.
