ABSTRACT
By considering the elastic membrane's dissipation, membrane-type acoustic metamaterial (MAM) has been demonstrated to be a super absorber for low-frequency sound. In paper, theoretical vibroacoustic plate model is developed reveal sound energy absorption mechanism within MAM under plane normal incidence. Based on in conjunction with point matching method, in-plane strain of membrane due resonant and antiresonant motion attached masses can accurately captured by solving coupled integrodifferential equation. The ability quantitatively determined, which also good agreement prediction from finite element method. particular, microstructure effects including eccentricity masses, depth, thickness, loss factor peak values are discussed.
