ABSTRACT
In this paper, an extracorporeal shock wave source composed of small ellipsoidal sparker units is described. The were arranged in array designed to produce a coherent sufficient strength fracture kidney stones. objective paper was measure the acoustical output 18 individual and compare commercial lithotripters. Representative waveforms acquired with fiber-optic probe hydrophone at geometric focus indicated that produces (P+ ∼40–47 MPa, P− ∼2.5–5.0 MPa) similar waves produced by Dornier HM-3 or Compact S. array's pressure field map also appeared measurements from Compared HM-3, electrohydraulic technology more consistent SW pulse (shot-to-shot positive value standard deviation ±4.7 MPa vs ±3.3 MPa).
