ABSTRACT
Pitch is a fundamental attribute in auditory perception involved source identification and segregation, music, speech understanding. percepts are intimately related to harmonic resolvability of sound. When harmonics well-resolved, the induced pitch usually salient precise, several models relying on autocorrelations or spectral templates can account for these percepts. However, when not completely resolved, percept becomes less salient, poorly discriminated, with upper range limited few hundred hertz, fail convey since only temporal cues available. Here, biologically-motivated model presented that combines both The explains how analysis estimate unresolved performed by bandpass filters implemented resonances dendritic trees neurons early pathway.
