ABSTRACT
Pitch is a fundamental attribute in auditory perception that involved source identification and segregation, music, speech understanding. When harmonics are well-resolved, the induced pitch usually salient precise; however, when not completely resolved, percept becomes less poorly discriminated. Previous models relying on harmonic spectral templates have been able to account fully for of resolved but unresolved harmonics. I will describe biologically motivated model combine both temporal cues estimate percepts. Specifically, estimated through bandpass filters implemented by resonances dendritic trees neurons early pathway. It demonstrated organizing exploiting such tuning can arise spontaneously even response white noise. We show how these become integrated with those spectrally harmonics, effectively creating spectro-temporal all finally discuss this approach major monaural percepts, as well percepts evoked dichotic binaural stimuli.
