ABSTRACT
When human listeners direct the auditory selective attention to a specific direction, listener can easily extract target sound from this even under noisy environment (commonly known as cocktail-party effect). Although spatial be directed any directions around including rear side, it is still unclear how much in side influences phenomenon. In present study, we investigated effect of directing location behind multi-talker and compared between result previous front listener. For purpose, word intelligibility was measured for speech among non-target sounds spatially distributed target. The presented direction where attended. To control listener's attention, manipulated probability presentation or indicated priori. results revealed improvement by similarly side. This suggests that there no directional dependency attention.
