ABSTRACT
Intergenerational transmission, which refers to the similarity between parent and their children, is a possible explanation of adolescent physical activity (PA). However, only few existing studies explore relationship parent-adolescent PA in East Asian countries. Therefore, this study aimed investigate association using nationally representative data Korea with large sample size.Data were collected from Korean National Health Nutrition Examination Survey conducted 2010 2014. The authors performed linear mixed effects regression analysis 1342 cases after log conversion moderate- vigorous-intensity (MVPA) levels.In study, median MVPA adolescents was 150 (interquartile range: 360) minutes per week. Adolescent levels significantly correlated mother's (β = 0.055, P .02). Similar findings greater girls younger (age: 13-15 y) found subgroup (girls: β 0.073, .05; adolescents: 0.103, .001).Increasing maternal could stimulate adolescent's levels. intervention at family level may lead an increase
