ABSTRACT
Purpose : The aim of this study was to determine the effects an 8-week program resistance training (RT) or suspension (ST) on explosive strength in prepubescent boys. Methods Fifty-seven boys aged 10–11 years were assigned 2 groups, RT ST a control group (no program). Boys trained twice weekly for 8 weeks. Results A significant interaction reported with large ( P < .001, ), medium and small effect sized ≤ ) 1-kg ball throw, 3-kg time-at-20-m test, respectively. There no countermovement vertical jump standing long jump. Changes from preintervention postintervention throw 5.94% 5.82% RT, respectively, 8.82% 8.14% improvement 20-m sprint 1.19% 2.33% RT. Conclusion Traditional seem be effective methods improving could considered as alternative modality optimize school-based programs.
