ABSTRACT
Tetrodotoxin, at concentrations up to 5 x 10(-6) gram per milliliter, has no effect on the spontaneous discharge in smooth muscle of taenia coli. However, is abolished by Mn(++) a concentration 0.5 millimole liter. The contraction induced immersing isotonic KCl solution also suppressed presence Mn(++). Because specific suppressor spike Ca(++) and tetrodotoxin an inhibitor Na(+), we suggest that charge carrier production potential entry intervening through membrane acts as trigger for muscle.
