ABSTRACT
The patch-clamp technique was used to study passive movements of ions through the plasmalemma wheat leaf protoplasts. This method overcomes problems inherent in conventional electrophysiological plant cells. Changes conductance were recorded patches excised from plasmalemma. Two types observed: (i) regions low channel density, where discrete single-channel currents could be resolved and ranged 10 200 picosiemens (ii) high not on order a few nanosiemens. results indicate striking similarity between animal cell membranes basic phenomena transport. Moreover, approach constitutes new degree refinement processes regulation, pathology, toxicity plants.
